The Beauregard Van

Our second van is quite a rare beast. Built in 1964 it is one of a limited number of vans Citroen sent from their factory to approved coachbuilders to be extended by 1 meter and to have the roof lifted. It comes complete with a split windscreen (2 windows in the front) that early vans had and that was also used in some of the early ‘Splitty’ VW Kombi vans.

The van resided in central France in its early life and was owned by the French Sheep Association. The initial restoration work was done in Europe, with the balance of the bodywork, painting and mechanical completed in New Zealand.

1964 was the first year you could choose a factory colour other than metallic silver. There were three colours to choose from, one of which was ‘Juane Pastis’ (named after the yellow/green flower used in making Pernot Ricard). To stay true to history we found the old formula for that colour and matched it as best as we could 60 years on.

When size matters Beauregard is your van. He is perfect for larger events and is ideal for being converted to a unique bar for any early to late evening party, wedding, or event of any kind.
